WT’s Bonkers Blog Posting of the Week

Townhall.com is a conservative response to the numerous liberal blog sites. For the most part, the site serves its stated purpose well. However,
Michael Medved posted an article entitled “Six Inconvenient Truths about the U.S. and Slavery” on September 29th that goes way off the deep end. Medved claims that there is a media frenzy “exaggerating America’s culpability for the horrors of slavery” and that he is attempting to provide an “honest and balanced” opinion. Sadly, his piece bulldozes the reality of history and completely misrepresents historical facts and figures. The crux of his argument is that he feels that black people are far better off because they were enslaved and “brought up” to the standards of Western culture.
The article itself is worth reading if only to understand what some people in America really believe. Comments posted on the bottom of his page are dishearteningly congratulatory.
